Lesli Hardy Mickey 1966-2008
LAYTON - Lesli Rachelle Hardy Mickey, 42, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at her home after a long struggle with breast cancer. She passed away quietly surrounded by family.
She was born August 9, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Marvin Lee and Betty Staten Hardy.
Lesli was known for her tireless work ethic, selfless service to others and endless love for her family. As a daughter, sister, mother, friend and co-worker, she inspired those around her with her indomitable spirit and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Lesli earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University and while working to support her family as a single mother of three, she earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Weber State University. She was employed at Hill Air Force Base as the Flight Chief over Munitions’ Foreign Military Sales.
Surviving her are her son RJ Mickey Jr., and daughters Jacque Mickey, and Haley Mickey and grandson Christopher Weeks, all of Layton; mother, Betty S. Hardy, Layton; her father Marvin Hardy and step-mother Penny Hardy, Orem; three brothers, Bryant Hardy, Magna; Lyle Hardy, Layton; Jon Hardy, West Valley; three sisters, Christina Black, Tooele; Kathy Brown, Tooele; and Karin Hardy, Layton.
Lesli was preceded in death by her brother Kevin and sister Dawna.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
